Beth is a  Watercolour Artist  from Coventry, UK. She initially pursued a career in graphic design after graduating from Leicester Polytechnic in 1986, and worked in several design agencies in and around her hometown until 1999 when she decided to focus on raising her family.

After an 18 year  hiatus from the design industry, Beth found herself drawn to a more hands-on creativity and discovered a passion for watercolour painting and  in July 2017, she founded Lagarto Studio Watercolours.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, Beth took part in the 'Free Portraits for NHS heroes' initiative, completing 23 free portraits and gaining recognition in her local newspaper, The Coventry Telegraph, and BBC CWR radio station. It was during this time too that her fascination with boats, water, reflection and the sea began to develop instigated by 'permitted' walks along the River Avon in Stratford.

Beth's paintings are exclusively executed in this challenging medium, which she loves for its fluidity, unpredictability, and the emotional dance that it requires. As an artist, she relishes the challenge that each new painting presents and sees every creation as a unique opportunity to continually improve and develop.

At a local Garden Centre I came across (as you do) a Universal Horizontal Grinder. I fell in love with the aesthetics, the rust, the shine and the colours.
